Program/Activities
I enjoy providing a wide range of educational and fun-filled activities for the children, encouraging them to be creative and inquisitive. I incorporate reading and music every day as well as arts and crafts, cutting and gluing, puzzles, games, quiet time and outdoor play (most days).
I engage the children with various themes throughout the year, including holidays, insects, birds, the body, colors, different countries, etc. These themes help to guide my choice of books, crafts, games, music, etc. However, I strongly believe in taking the childrens' lead on any given day and my schedule is never rigid. We sometimes veer off on a completely different them if an interesting topic comes up in our conversations.
I ensure that the children have a chance to play with playdough and sand/water weekly at a minimum. We bake together whenever possible.
