My goal is for your child....
- to feel secure and safe, ready to explore the world
- to feel capable, seeing mistakes as a way to learn
- to experience a rich array of activities within the comfort of a predictable routine
- to play and have fun!
A caregiver or a parent is best able to support and encourage a child if they have a sound understanding of the stages and process of growth and development. Although I am constantly learning, I have developed a fair bit of knowledge and experience in this area. For a list of my favorite references, see Suggested Reading.
As a caregiver, it is my goal to actively support parents as they nurture and guide their children and this works best with lots of communication, communication, communication! I provide a personal update every day and I ask that parents keep me up to date on the child's progress at home as well. I take LOTS of pictures and videos, with permission, so that parents can share in the children's day.
Parents are welcome to drop in at any time during the day, however the children will always be my first priority. I will make opportunities for more indepth discussions with parents outside of daycare hours, as needed.
